Hi People

I spoke. On Wednesday lunch time in the CBD area. Thursday lunch time in AMK. Friday lunch time at Jalan Sultan. Friday evening time in Hougang. Saturday tea time at the HDB hub. I just returned from giving an hour’s talk in Yishun. Someone told me that when you do a public talk for an hour it is actually 4 hours work!

At 50 I dreamed of retiring at 55. I just did. I hope now that I am 55, I don’t feel like dying….from exhaustion. Although I am free from the trappings of corporate life (the good, bad & the ugly parts) I am far from twiddling my thumbs. You see I have bookings to speak at least once or twice a week.

When I meet up with my former colleagues at the workplace they have commented that I look tanned, trim & taut (T3). No, I have not joined an exclusive gym (expensive). And no, I have not taken up golf (more expensive).

I told them I discovered a cheaper way of looking T3. I do 20 minutes of hula hoop gyrating, 20 pushups, 20 situps & 20 minutes of walking the dog. Twice a day! I figured I had better be disciplined in my daily routine, otherwise without the structure of a daily office routine I might just expire now that I am ‘retired’. Perhaps a better word is to ‘refire’.

My attitude towards life is “Be Positive”. Afterall I was once reminded by my daughter that it is in my blood type and also my 3 children’s blood type…B+ Yes, that’s Be Positive! Might I add that whereas Attitude Is Everything… Without Discipline, You Have Nothing!

So, here I am at 55, going on 20. And going away on a short holiday.

Good day mate!

Looking Good

“Love me when I deserve it the least ‘cause it is then that I need it the most.”

Hi People

This is our dog and his name is Lipra Loof. He is named such because he goes loof, loof instead of the normal woof, woof! It has something to do with his cute lips, like la comes out as ra or wo comes out as lo.

Whatever his name, we think he looks good. And that matters to us. In fact we were at Botak Jones recently (they are all over Singapore) and a notice caught our eyes.

On the left side, a partial quote from Vidal Sassoon, “If you don’t look good, we don’t look good.” On the right side, a quote from Botak Jones, “If you don’t look, frankly, we don’t care.”

In a marriage, if our spouse don’t look good, we don’t look good. In fact the full tagline from Sassoon is “If you don’t look good, we don’t look good; we take pride in you.” This should be the essence of a healthy, successful marriage.

Last week, my wife and I attented a “train the trainer” 2-day workshop by Bill and Pam Farrel. They are the authors of Men are like Waffles, and Women are like Spaghetti”. Last week, my wife and I spoke at TOUCH’s Family Festival in the CBD area. We aspire to be a blessing to other young couples and individuals as we take our TAJ - Third Age Journey. At our age (way past 50) we are still learning…and teaching. We believe that when you teach, you learn twice.

Before I say good night, do you know what day today is? It is Lipra Loof Day!

I hope you learned something from my post today.

Goodnight and God bless.
